Project Overview

Project Kisan Samruddhi aims to create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem for smallholder farmers in the drought-prone Marathwada region. The initiative focuses on building institutional capacity through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), introducing climate-smart agricultural practices, and ensuring direct market linkages to increase farmer incomes.

Over the course of three years, the project will mobilize 5,000 farmers, providing them with training on organic input preparation, water-efficient irrigation, and post-harvest management.

Key Objectives

• Establish and nurture 20 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
• Reduce input costs by 30% through the promotion of natural farming techniques.
• Enhance crop yield by 20% via climate-resilient seed varieties.
• Eliminate middlemen by establishing direct farm-to-market supply chains.

Major Activities

• Village-level mobilization and baseline surveys.
• Setting up Custom Hiring Centers (CHCs) for shared agricultural machinery.
• Conducting bi-weekly farmer field schools (FFS).
• Developing soil health cards for 100% of participating farmers.
